Abstract

1,026,784. Collapsible packing cases. DRYERS Ltd. Sept. 21, 1962 [June 24, 1961], No. 22932/61. Heading B8P. [Also in Division E2] A packing case has walls secured together in a readily dismantleable manner by a tongue- and-groove device, the parts of which fit together with a sliding action when the container is assembled. The tongue-and-groove device shown in Fig. 4 can be made by welding together metal plate sections 38, 39, 40 and 45, 43, 46 bent and/or cut to shape. In Fig. 4, the device is used for securing the lid 37, but the same device can be used when securing any two walls of the case 35, 36 and any number of such devices may be used to join any two walls. The lid may be completely secured in position by using a tongue and hasp which can then be padlocked. When the same device is used for lifting, Fig. 5 (not shown), metal strips 53, 48 are secured to the case and provided with lifting rings 54.
