Abstract

1,026,759. Discharge apparatus. ATLEE CORPORATION. Jan. 25, 1963 [Aug. 10, 1962], No. 3154/63. Heading H1D. A cooling shield for a discharge tube 29 comprises a base 12 mounted adjacent the tube socket 16, a hinged split sleeve 30 having one end 40 receivable within the base 12, and a clamp, e.g. the cap 42, securing the sleeve 30. Heat conducting springs 48 or corrugated metal foil may be mounted between the tube and the sleeve 30. The inside of the shield may be painted black, and the outside polished. The device provides a readily dismountable shield, giving good heat conduction from the tube wall to the tube support member 25.
