Coin-handling appliances.-In a device for facilitating the transfer of coins, a chute 25, Fig. 4, raised by the upturned hand, is operatively connected to one or more coin-discharging doors 31, all parts of which are arranged to move downwards. In the form shown, the chute 25 is raised against the pressure of a spring 23, and connected by links 34 to levers 32 on the doors, which are hinged at 30 to a conical or concave plate 16 secured to a shelf or counter 15. Straps 36 support a plate beneath the discharge aperture of the apparatus for intercepting any falling coins. In a modification, the chute slides in a skeleton frame and is provided with pins which operate in slots in the door levers. Another arrangement comprises a single coin door provided with a slotted lever actuated by a guided sliding link. A flat plate furnished with pins adapted to engage holes in the edge of the plate 16 is provided to cover the apparatus if it is out of order. Two devices are shown applied to the shelf of a ticketselling window, the shelf being provided with a raised edge and separating ledge. The Specification as open to public inspection under Sect. 91 (3) (a) describes an apparatus comprising hinged coin doors 28, Fig. 3 (cancelled), which are normally maintained in the position shown by arms 22 on pivots 24 engaging the door-carrying arms 25, but are released by raising a sleeve 17 connected by links 21 to the arms 22. The doors and associated parts are carried by a disk 19 removably secured by screws 18. Raised portions 29 on the doors fit closely against the inner edge of a hopper 30. The device may be carried in a ring supported on a stand, or may be secured by a half-ring in a cutaway part of a counter provided with a Tailing, from which extend two coin-guides holding the device in position.
