A strap frame grid electrode comprises spaced side members having a cross-section as shown in Figs. 2 or 5 to provide resistance to inward bow and to permit limited rotational twisting of the side members without altering the minor grid dimension B, Fig. 2. The end portions of the side members 13, Figs. 1, 3 (not shown) are made a standard size to fit in the mica supports, irrespective of the minor grid dimension produced.
