Abstract
102,369. Salerno, G. Nov. 22, 1915, [Convention date]. Ordnance and small-arms.-Relates to processes for tubing or re-tubing the barrels of firearms with liner tubes having external and internal portions of different diameters. According to the invention, the bore is first enlarged by drilling, or by the removal of a previous tube, to form a bore having cylindrical portions k, l, h, Fig. 1, of different diameters; a lining-tube n is then inserted having external diameters slightly less than the corresponding parts of the barrel bore, and an internal bore of uniform diameter; the tube is next expanded to form a perfect fit by forcing through it a steel rod a, Fig. 4, having an enlarged head b; finally, the chamber is drilled out and the bore rifled.
