Operating-tabtes.--An appliance for lifting and supporting patients is clipped to the frame or top of an operating-table and comprises a band of material l passing over rollers k on uprights e. The ends of the band l are provided with straps m having eyes to engage knobs o on the ends of an extensible member, to which the uprights are secured by sleeves e<1> and nuts h provided with swivelled handles h<1>. Holes u are provided in the extensible member to enable the uprights to be arranged outside the table frame members t, to which they are secured by clamping-members f, s. Stirrups may be provided on the ends of the straps for use in holding the straps tight. A padded board may be secured by tapes to the band l.
