Abstract

1,023,430. Spoons, forks, spatulas. H. DACHINGER. Feb. 12, 1965 [Feb. 13, 1964], No. 6139/64. Headings A4A and A4V. A drinking straw 8 is an interference fit in apertures 6, 7 in cranked parts of the handle 2 of a spoon, fork or spatula to provide an implement for eating foods which are partly solid and partly liquid. The cranked parts preferably lie on an arc of a circle, of which the inserted straw forms a chord, and either the straw or the handle may be distorted for insertion of the straw. In modifications the apertures are ovoid or each cranked part has a plurality of apertures, to accommodate various sizes of straw. The spoon is preferably of transparent plastics and disposed of after a single use.
