Abstract

[Also in Division E2] A coupling member for use in the mounting of the deck plate 4 of a record player on a lower mounting board 13 comprises a stem 1 formed at its upper end with an enlargement 2 presenting an upper seating 3 in a plane normal to the axis of the stem and at its lower end with laterally extending resilient fins 14 adapted, when passed downwardly through an aperture formed in the mounting board to be deflected to reduce their maximum radial dimensions by the reaction of the fins against the edge of the aperture, the upper end being also adapted to be engaged by a clamping screw 8 being presented axially thereto, and the enlargement having formations 11 on its underside which are adapted when pressed against the surface of the mounting board to resist turning of the stem about its axis during the operation of turning the clamping screw. In the construction shown the fins are L- shaped with inclined end faces and with the free arm of each fin also inclined towards the axis for ease of insertion through the aperture. The formations 11 are also fins and four are provided. In use the motor board is supported on springs 23 which are attached to projections 24 on the deck plate and the fins on the coupling member preventing removal of the deck plate by abutting the underside of the mounting board.
