Abstract

1,023,284. Titanium alloys. BIRMINGHAM SMALL ARMS CO. Ltd. Aug. 14, 1964 [Aug. 16, 1963], No. 32421/63. Heading C7A. A titanium based alloy comprises: Al 2 -10% Mo 1 -10% Si 0À1- 2% C 0À1- 0À5% part of the aluminium may be replaced by Sn up to 8% and O 0À02- 0À3% the minimum aluminium content being 2%, the balance, apart from impurities such as 0À01- 0À03% nitrogen, being titanium. The alloys may be heat-treated for 0À5-2 hours at 900 ‹C. followed by age hardening for 24 hours at 500 ‹C.
