Abstract

102,323. Rogers, G. M. May 4, 1916. Gravity-feed lubricators.-In a lubricator for motorvehicle engines &c., having one or more valves operated by a solenoid, a cylindrical casing 10, Fig. 1, enclosing the solenoid 20 has an integral enlarged flanged base 11 attached to, or forming the cover of, an oil-cup 1. The core sleeve 19 of the solenoid, which acts as a guide for the valverod 18, projects through a central opening in the base. The alve 17 controls the flow of oil through an outlet 3 formed in an attachment nipple 2. A screw 16 limits the movement of the rod 18. Oil is supplied to the cup through a pipe 5. Fig. 6 shows a modification in which the valves controlling a number of outlets 4a are operated by a single rod 23<a> and solenoid 14<a>. A spring 28<a> closes the valves when the solenoid is de-energized. The casing 8<a> is attached at its upper end to a support D'. A number of lubricators may be coupled together electrically so as to be operated simultaneously. A switch controlling the lubricators may be operated by a time-mechanism.
