Abstract

1,023,144. Aircraft hangars. K. G. W. FORSLER. May 21, 1963 [May 24, 1962], No. 20144/63. Heading E1A. A hangar for an aircraft having an upstanding tail fin is generally circular in plan except for a wall portion 9 thereof which forms a chord of the circle, the wall portion opposite the position 9 being defined by two arcuate sliding doors 2, 3 of a combined length of one half or slightly less than one half of the peripheral length of the building. The building is provided with inclined roof having its maximum height adjacent the inlet opening where it is supported by a lattice-type girder carried by pillars 5<SP>1</SP>. An under-roof is also provided except in that part of the building which houses the tail fin.
