Abstract

The invention comprises compounds of the general formula <FORM:1021946/C2/1> wherein R1 and R2 are hydrogen or C1-C4 alkyl and R3 or R4 are hydrogen, and the preparation thereof by reacting a compound of the general formula <FORM:1021946/C2/2> with N,N1-bis-acryloylpiperazine, preferably in the presence of a tertiary amine in the temperature range - 10 DEG to 100 DEG C., preferably in the presence of a solvent and with the reactants ordinarily in the required molecular ratio of 2 : 1. N,N1 - bis - acryloyl - piperazine may be prepared by condensing piperazine with acryloyl chloride. A carcinostatic composition comprises a compound of the above general formula and an inert carrier, e.g. ethylene glycol for injectable solutions.
