Abstract

Flanges 3, 4 of a rotary coupling for marine installations, diesel locomotives and piston compressors, are connected by a flexible U or Z sectioned annular rubber member 8 having equal, or unequal, diameter securing edges 7 respectively, and which is integrally reinforced by torque-transmitting fabric thread inserts 10 extending axially, e.g. perpendicularly, between the securing edges 7, the inserts 10 being enveloped by a further layer of peripherally extending centrifugal reinforcing inserts 12, in turn enclosed by a rubber layer 14.
