101,931. Marks, E. C. R., (Star, Wagner, & Silberstein). May 5, 1916. Loose-letter signs and< >notice-boards.-Boards &c. of the kind having parallel grooves or channels for receiving plates bearing characters &c. have the channels formed with downwardly inclined openings to provide a ledge upon which the character-bearing members can be hung. Figs. 2 and 4 show one construction. A metal plate 13 is crimped or formed with grooves 14, sign-beating plates15 arranged in any desired order being hung on the edges of the grooves. The plate 13 is mounted in a frame 11 and is fitted with a backing 17. In another construction, Fig. 8, the plate 13 is built up of a number of interengaging sections 18.
