Abstract

Longitudinal and transverse rods 1a, 2a used as a reinforcing material are secured together by wires wound around the points of intersection or by clamps secured to them at the points of intersection and are further secured by an adhesive interposed between the securing wires clamps and the rods, Figs. 10, 14, 16, 18. The securing wires 3a may be simply wound around the rods or they may have projections 20a which act as spacing members. Likewise the clamps, provided with shaped portions 10a, 10b to receive the rods, may have projections 23a, 24a acting as spacing members. The clamps may be in the form of near tubular members 14a, 15a which receive the rods secured together by an adhesive and having a portion 26a deformed to act as a spacing member. Alternatively U-shaped members 18a, 18b are provided which can be secured together to clamp the rods and which may be provided with projections 28a, 29a to act as spacing members.
