Abstract
1,017,031. Electric selectors. GENERAL ELECTRIC CO. Ltd. Nov. 30, 1964 [Nov. 29, 1963], No. 47248/63. Heading H1L. In a cross-point switching matrix 1, each of the inlets I1 . . . I15 is connectible to four of the outlets O1 . . . 015, and conversely each of the outlets is connectible to four of the inlets. When two such matrices 1, 1<SP>1</SP> are connected in cascade, the outlets of 1 being the inlets of 1<SP>1</SP>, each of the inlets I1 . . . I15 of 1 may be selectively connected to any one of the outlets O<SP>1</SP>1 ... 15 of 1<SP>1</SP>. More generally, each matrix may have K<SP>2</SP>-1 inlets and outlets, with each inlet connectible to K outlets, K being at least 3. The connections at the cross-points may be made by reed relays which may be constructed as a replaceable unit with a plug connector.
