Abstract

1,016,675. Securing tubular cores on shafts. I.C.P.M. INDUSTRIE CHIMICHE PORTO MARGHERA S.p.A. Sept. 5, 1962, No. 34012/62. Heading F2U. A coupling for securing a cardboard core 9 on a shaft 10, for winding plastic films, comprises one or more conical collet members 1, 2, or rubber members (not shown), expanded into engagement with the core 9 by a nut 5 threaded on a screw 6 and axially thrusting through spacers 7, 8, the disc 1 of the inner collet and the screw 6 being secured to the shaft 10 by set screws 11. Each collet member comprises opposed conical discs 1, 4 on which four conical segments 2 are retained under the retracting bias of garter springs 3.
