Abstract

Polymers containing carbon, boron, halogen and nitrogen are prepared by pyrolysing a b -trihalogeno - N - triarylborazole or the corresponding linear b -halogeno-N-aryl boronamine. In examples polymers were produced by pyrolysis, e.g. temperatures between 400 DEG and 500 DEG C., of (1) b -trichloro-N-triphenyl borazole. (2) b -trichloro-N-tri-p-tolylborazole. (3) b -trichloro - N - tri - o - tolylborazole. (4) b -chloro - N - m - tolylpolyboronamine which was prepared together with some b -trichloro-N-tri-m-tolylborazole by reacting boron trichoride with m-toluidine.
