Water solutions of chemical compounds for proofing; wood, treating with liquids.-Wood is impregnated with a solution containing not less than 32 per cent magnesium chloride, and may subsequently be treated with ai waterproofing- substance, such as tar, asphalt, oil paints, oils, &c., or a solution of a soluble silicate, such as sodium silicate, which forms an external coating of magnesium silicate.
