Abstract
1,013,282. Transistor amplifying circuits. FERNSEH G.m.b.H. June 5, 1962 [June 6, 1961], No. 21642/62. Heading H3T. A variable-gain transistor amplifier comprises means for applying input signals to the base of a first transistor 1 having the emittercollector path of a second transistor 2 of the same conductivity type connected in its collector lead, the second transistor having in turn a load impedance 7 across which an output signal is taken connected in its collector lead, the base of the second transistor being connected to means for varying the bias voltage applied thereto to vary the overall gain of the amplifier. A variable resistor 13 may be connected between collector and base of transistor 1 to provide an optional adjustment of the amplifier characteristics. A plurality of amplifiers F may be connected to a common load 7, Fig. 2 (not shown) to permit fading over from one vision channel to another. Two amplifiers may be connected in cascade, Fig. 3 (not shown); it is stated that the second amplifier compensates non-linearity in the first thus reducing overall distortion. The two amplifiers may be coupled through an emitter-follower stage, Fig. 4 (not shown).
