Abstract
The invention comprises dyestuffs which, in the form of the fre acids, have the formula <FORM:1012625/C4-C5/1> wherein R is hydrogen or an alkyl radical of 1 to 4 carbon atoms, X is a divalent aromatic bridging group containing one or two benzene rings and which is substituted by at least one sulphonic acid group, m is 1 or 2, R1 and R2 are each methyl and R3 is a substituted or unsubstituted aliphatic radical or at least two of R1, R2 and R3 are joined or fused together to form with the quaternary nitrogen atom a heterocyclic ring or ring wherein the said nitrogen atom is linked to carbon atoms present in the said ring o rings through either single bonds or through a single bond and a double bond. The dyes are made by reacting an amine of the formula NR1R2R3 in aqueous medium with a compound of the formula <FORM:1012625/C4-C5/2> Amines specified are trimethylamine, pyridine and 1:4 - diazabicyclo - (2:2:2) - octane. The dyes dye cellulose textile materials in conjunction with a treatment with an acid-binding agent in reddish-blue to green shades.
