The net weight of a load is obtained by weighing apparatus which derives the gross weight and applies it to a binary-coded decimal adder, where it is added to the nines complement of the tare weight. A signal representing decimal one is added in to the lowest order and the carry out of the highest order is ignored, so that the difference between gross and tare weight is derived.
