Abstract

1,011,217. Separating and conveying articles. SCHLOEMANN A.G. Jan. 31, 1964 [Feb. 2 1963], No. 4309/64. Heading B8A. [Also in Division B3] Rolled bars 1 from a conveyer 10 are separated from a large bunch into smaller bunches 3 having a predetermined number of bars by means of rotating disc sectors 4 each having a wedge surface 5. The first sector, on the left, separates a bunch from the stock of bars and then further discs, whose wedge surfaces are relatively staggered, progressively separate the bunch. The sectors are driven by chains 15 from motors 7 and 8. The separated bunch, Fig. 3, is shifted by a piston-operated lever 11 down a shoot 12 to an endless conveyer 13 for subsequent bundling.
