Abstract

1,010,858. Telescopic stay. WILMOT-BREEDEN Ltd. Oct. 14, 1964 [Oct. 19, 1963], No. 41363/63. Heading E2F. A two-part telescopic stay includes a spring loaded catch 4, pivotally mounted on the inside face of the outer member 2, a hook shaped part 9 of which catch projects through an aperture 10 in the inner member 1 when the stay is in the extended position, the hook preventing collapse of the stay until the stay has been slightly extended and the hook manually depressed against the action of the spring 8 by use of the lever part of the catch 7. A slot 12, Fig. 2 (not shown) is provided in member 2 for the hook to project through, the hook being compressed between the edge 14 of slit 12 and edge 13 of aperture 10 when the stay is locked in position. The member 1 may be provided with a plurality of apertures 10 to lock the stay in the corresponding number of positions.
