Abstract

[Also in Division G3] An induction motor is supplied through static converter 2 having control unit 3 receiving a control signal from tachometer generator 6 so that the output frequency and voltage of the converter are varied proportionally with variations of the control signal. The unit 3 also receives a signal representing the deviation between the desired and actual speeds of the motor to limit the slip between the rotating field and the rotor. The deviation signal is supplied to the unit 3 through amplifier 4 whose output is limited and which has an adjustable proportional-integral action whereby the motor may have a rigid speed control or a control such that the speed yields to the torque. The amplifier 4 may also provide derivative or doublederivative signals. The control unit 3 may comprise a shunt-wound D.C. motor which converts the voltage received from adder 7 into a speed proportional to the voltage. A synchronous generator having a permanent magnet field is driven by the D.C. motor and supplies control signals to the converter 2. The output voltage of the adder 7 may serve as a reference voltage for speed regulation of the D.C. motor. The system may be adapted for digital control.
