Abstract
1,004,716. Electric calculating apparatus. THOMPSON RAMO WOOLDRIDGE Inc. Oct. 2, 1962 [Oct. 3, 1961], No. 37421/62. Headings G4A and G4C. Counts from separate sources are registered on separate locations of a magnetic drum. The item or event to be counted is registered on a storage device connected to an associated line 3-n, which is scanned in synchronism with the rotation of the drum by a wiper 2. The specific count is circulated round the path 22, 24, 26, 9, 16, 18, 20 to be recorded again unchanged if nothing has been detected. Addition takes place however via 5 and 12 if an item or event is detected. To avoid accidental operation, the storage device must be operated for two successive revolutions, the first detection being registered in a control element DT27 (not shown). If it is detected in the next revolution one is added to the count, otherwise the recording in DT27 (not shown) is removed. If the storage device remains operated for further revolutions, its condition is ignored until after it has been restored. Specification 1,004,717 is referred to.
