Abstract

A pesticidal composition comprises a toxin produced by bacteria or virus e.g. Bacillus thuringiensis varieties or Bacillus entomocidus varieties and a salt or mixture of an amine as an aliphatic carboxylic acid of more than 12 carbon atoms. The amines are primary, secondary or tertiary. Typical amines are mono, dianol triethylamine tri-n-propylamine, methyl diallyl ordibutyl amine, dimethylcyclohexylamine, benzyldiethyl amine. (m-methylbenzyl) diethylamine, methyldecylamine and octylamine. Specified acids are linoleic, linolenic, crucic, petroselenic, 15-hexadecenoic, myristic, palmitic, arachidic, behenic, and stearic acid. The compositions may contain antiflocculants; suspending agents; solid carriers, e.g. silica gel, sepiolite or absorbent clays; surfactants of the non-ionic type e.g. polyalkylene oxides, block polymers thereof and condensates thereof with alkyl phenols and fatty alcohols or esters of polyhydricalcohols such as sorbitol with fatty acids; and solvents e.g. alkanols, geycols, glycol ethers, ketones, esters, glycerol or dioxane.
