1,002,735. Reinforced concrete. M. SALM. May 11, 1962 [May 13, 1961], No. 18224/62. Heading E1V. A non-metallic supporting strip 1 for concrete-reinforcing bars comprises recesses 2 to receive bars e.g. A or B of differing diameter on one side and opposite them on the other side sawtoothed projections 3. The recesses 2 are preferably 5 cms. apart which is stated to be the minimum practicable distance between bars. Notches 4 facilitate breaking off lengths of the supporting strip. Suggested materials are concrete, ceramics or p.v.c.
