The invention comprises l-dimethylamino-3-homothiaxanthylidene - (41) - propane; and its acid addition salts; and its preparation by treating 4-(g -dimethylaminopropyl)-4-hydroxy-homothiaxanthene with a dehydrating agent. Pharmaceutical compositions comprise the compound and salts of the invention with inert carriers. The compounds affect the nervous system.
