Abstract

The clarity of polypropylene is improved by the addition of an organic acid <FORM:1001709/C3/1> wherein X is H, R or OR in the o- or p-position and R is C1 to C8 hydrocarbon. The preferred acids are benzoic, p-toluic, p-t-Bu-benzoic, and o- and p-methoxy benzoic acids. Optional ingredients are carbon black and dilauryl b -thiodipropionate. Applications specified are as film and bottles.
