1,001,175. Thermo-electric arrangements. COMMISSARIAT A L'ENERGIE ATOMIQUE. Dec. 23, 1963 [Dec. 27, 1962], No. 50686/63. Heading H1K. A thermo-electric assembly for measuring the temperature of a metallic wall is produced by introducing each of two thermo-electric wire elements 8, 10 into grooves 4 and 6 in the metallic wall 1, heating to diffuse the wire material 1 into the wall and closing back the lips of the groove to hold the wires in place. In the example, the wires on leaving the surface of the wall are led through stopper 16 into a metallic sheath 12 containing magnesium oxide 12 as an insulator. The thermo-electric wires may consist of copper-constantan, " Chromelalumel " (Registered Trade Mark) or ironconstantan, and the wall of aluminium or zirconium alloy.
