Abstract
A fluid duct comprising a rigid inner pipe 110, 115 and a flexible outer sleeve / bellow 170 wherein the rigid inner pipe / tube provides at least one degree of freedom, and wherein the flexible outer sleeve / bellow provides a seal preventing fluid leaking through it. Ideally the fluid conduit comprises connectors at both ends 175, in the manner of flanges / screw tap. Preferably the fluid duct is telescopic 130 and comprises two rigid inner pipes 110, 115, preferably made of plastics, metal alloy or ceramics. The flexible outer liner 105, 170 is preferably made of convoluted nitrile rubber. Holes 160 may be provided in the inner 110 of the two rigid inner pipes, so as to reduce the effects of fluid pressure on tube extension. The fluid duct is effectively an expansion joint, enabling some axial movement, and possibly some swivelling 150. The hose may be used to transfer fuel, e.g. to a building, or vehicle. The disclosed fluid duct for ducting a fluid between a fluid source and a fluid drain with high flow rates comprises a rigid inner part and a flexible outer part wherein the rigid inner part provides at least one degree of freedom and wherein the flexible outer part secures that the fluid can not penetrate to the outside but is flexible enough so that it does not hinder said at least one degree of freedom.
