Abstract

The container comprises a container body 24 with plurality of openings 26 configured to resist removal of a needle assembly from the container, and cause separation of the needle hub from the syringe body. This may be achieved by at least one retaining element such as a lip 28 which is sized to allow the flange of a needle hub to push fit or snap fit on insertion. The container may be disc shaped and have a removable cover (12, fig 1) with an oval aperture (18) that may be aligned with the openings. The device may also include a blanking member on the body (74, fig 10) which when aligned with the aperture closes the device and a lock to maintained the device in a closed condition.
