Abstract
A lamp housing for an ink curing apparatus comprises at least one ceramic holder 26 configured to receive an end of a lamp 12 such as a tubular ultraviolet lamp and comprises means 34 to connect the lamp to a power supply. The holder may be removable from the lamp and comprise a recess 32 to receive and end of the lamp, a spring loaded block 34, resilient metal contact 36, engaging electrode 22 and be secured by fixings 40. The recess 32 can have a shape that is complimentary to the identifying shape (fig 3) of the pinched end 14 of the lamp tube. The housing may comprise a hollow ceramic frame (fig 6, 40) and a ceramic lid (fig 6, 46) connected to a resilient metal contact in the form of a clip (fig 6, 44) that engages another metal contact (fig 6, 42). The lid (fig 5, 46) is thereby held against the frame (fig 6, 40) and encloses the electrical connection.
