Abstract

The present invention provides for a mobile radio communications device for communication by way of a mobile radio communications network and having a power-saving mode employing discontinuous reception, the discontinuous reception being available in at least two discrete modes, and the device being arranged to receive a control signal from the network which signal includes timing data for controlling switching of the discontinuous reception between the two set modes.
