Abstract

In carrying out a task that consumes data from a one-time pad (30), task inputs comprising at least first data ([a]) and second data ([b])from the pad, are combining together to form an output (40) from which the data used from the pad (30) cannot be recovered without knowledge of at least one of the first and second data ([a], [b]). The task concerned can be, for example, the encrypting (34) of a message (32) or the creating of an attribute verifier.
