Abstract
A pressure relief system 10 comprises a ducting arrangement 17 for venting process gas from within a process system. The ducting arrangement comprises an outlet 18 for the process gas that is immersed in liquid 13; the depth of the liquid can be adjusted by changing the height of a weir plate 14, so that the liquid acts to regulate the pressure within the system and also cleans the gas. The system further may comprise a liquid source arrangement 12 for creating a curtain of liquid through which the process gas is forced to pass to further clean the process gas prior to venting to the atmosphere.
