Abstract
Relative movement of two objects is driven using a curved electro-active bender element having a bender construction of a plurality of layers activatable to cause bending of the bender element in a direction perpendicular to the layers, the bender element being elongate and extending along a curve around an axis extending parallel to said direction perpendicular to the layers.
