Abstract

The automatic stirrer assembly comprises a stirring mechanism and a pan clamping mechanism. The stirring mechanism includes an electric motor 9 which turns a detachable stirrer 5 via a gear mechanism 7. The electric motor is connected to a power supply via metal pins 11 which attach to a socket on a front panel of a cooker (not shown). The stirrer is supported by a folding bracket (not shown) adjacent the socket. The pan clamping mechanism comprises clamping tongs 42 which are removeably attached in slots in the front panel of the cooker and a spring biasing mechanism 15 16 19 20 which is integrally housed in the cooker. The arrangement enables food to be stirred automatically whilst the pan is held firmly in position.
