Abstract

An apparatus for packaging piece-goods articles (A) comprises a feed conveyor (3) for feeding piece-goods articles (A) on a packaging material (F), a packaging station (5) for forming a flexible tube of the packaging material (F), the packaging station (5) comprising sealing and cutting means (53, 54) for sealing the packaging material (F) and for separating the flexible tube in individual bags (B), the bags (B) comprising at least one article of said piece-goods articles and a data determining station (2). The data determining station (2) is positioned upstream of the packaging station (5) and comprises means for determining at least one feature of at least one unpacked article passing through this data determining station (2). This feature is used when packing this at least one article. The apparatus further comprises a marking station (4, 6) being positioned upstream of the packaging station (5). The apparatus and process allows to apply data or labels on any places of the bags (by detecting weight) and it furthermore can handle individual articles in a more individual way (by detecting dimensions).
