Abstract

A method of generating a popularity (P) indication for a user (I) 306 of a system 301, comprising the steps of: determining direct and indirect connections between the user (I) 306 and other users (IN) of the system 301; generating a popularity indication; and transmitting the indication, via a communications channel 308, to a terminal 303, for display or presentation. The present invention provides a method and system for determining the popularity of a subject, based upon links that subject establishes or has established.
