Description

Transport box for two or three wheeled vehicles Field of the invention

The present invention relates to a transport box for a two- or three-wheeled vehicle, the transport box comprising an electronic display device. The present invention also relates to a vehicle equipped with such a transport box.

Prior art

Companies use a variety of means to promote their products, including posters, billboards and television advertisements.

Electronic advertising billboards have also been introduced in major cities.

Document GB 2 504 939 proposes an electronic display device, removably mounted on a transport box for a two- or three-wheeled vehicle. The display device is intended to display targeted advertisements, based on the position of the vehicle.

Known systems, however, have a certain number of drawbacks.

Indeed, although advertising by posters and billboards can be an economical way to reach users, it is poorly suited to temporary advertising, which concerns for example weekly or daily offers.

Electronic billboards overcome this drawback. However, due to their high cost, they are generally not available outside of large cities, and are not suitable for small businesses with a limited budget.

The display device described in GB 2 504 939 can be difficult to spot, particularly when the vehicle speed is relatively high. This necessarily reduces the impact of advertising.

There is therefore a need for a transport box comprising an electronic display device, which makes it possible to reach a maximum of potential advertising targets, in a dynamic, economical and quickly adaptable manner.

These objectives, as well as others which will become clearer later, are achieved using a transport box for a two or three wheeled vehicle. The transport box has two side faces, a rear face and a display device. The display device comprises a first LED screen, covering the rear face, and a second LED screen, covering one of the side faces. The first and second LED screens are mounted so as to be able to display an image up to the angle formed between the rear face and said one side face, so as to be able to ensure continuity of the image between the first and second screens LED.

According to one embodiment of the invention, the display device comprises a third LED screen, covering the other of said side faces. The third LED screen is mounted so as to be able to present an image up to the angle formed between the rear face and said other side face, so as to be able to ensure continuity of the image between the first, second and third screens LED.

According to one embodiment of the invention, the vertical edges of the first LED screen are beveled, at least one vertical edge of each of the second and third LED screens also being beveled, to cooperate with the corresponding beveled edge of the first LED screen.

According to one embodiment of the invention, each LED screen is formed by the juxtaposition of a plurality of LED modules.

According to one embodiment of the invention, the transport box comprises an outer box, allowing the fixing of the LED screens, and an inner box, inserted in the outer box and adapted to contain one or more goods(s) to be transported.

The exterior box may comprise a rear panel and two side panels, each panel having openings to allow the electrical connection of the LED screens to control and/or power supply means arranged in the exterior box.

According to one embodiment of the invention, the vertical edges of the rear panel are beveled, each side panel also comprising a vertical edge beveled to cooperate with the corresponding vertical edge of the rear panel.

The exterior box may also include a lower panel, on which the means for controlling and/or powering the LED screens are fixed.

According to one embodiment of the invention, the exterior box comprises a front panel, said front panel comprising a hatch allowing access to the interior box.

The transport box may also include a solar panel capable of powering the LED screens.

The invention also proposes a two- or three-wheeled vehicle equipped with a transport box as defined above.

There represents a vehicle 1 of the two-wheel scooter type. Generally speaking, the invention applies to any type of vehicle 1 with two or three wheels, in particular an electric bicycle, a scooter, a motorcycle, etc.

The vehicle 1 is equipped with a transport box 2, also called a “top box”. Such a transport box 2 is in particular used to make deliveries of goods such as meals or food products. However, other applications are possible.

The transport box 2 has a substantially parallelepiped shape and comprises two side faces 3 and 4, a rear face 5, a front face 6, an upper face 7 and a lower face 8.

The transport box 2 includes an interior box 9 ( ) and an external box 10 ( ). Each box 9, 10 has a substantially parallelepiped shape. The dimensions of the inner box 9 are smaller than the dimensions of the outer box 10, so that the inner box 9 can be inserted into the outer box 10 ( ).

An insulating material (not shown) can be inserted between the inner box 9 and the outer box 10, in order to help maintain the temperature of the goods transported, particularly when it comes to food. The insulating material is for example polystyrene.

The interior box 9 is suitable for containing goods to be transported and/or delivered. This interior box 9 has an opening 11, which gives access to the interior of this interior box 9, and which is preferably located at the level of the front face 6 of the transport box 2.

The transport case 2 comprises an electronic display device 12. The display device 12 comprises a first LED screen 13, covering the rear face 5 of the transport case 2. The display device 12 comprises a second LED screen 14, covering one of the side faces 3 of the transport box 2. Preferably, the display device 12 comprises a third LED screen (not visible in the figures), covering the other side face 4 of the transport box 2 The LED screens 13, 14 are fixed on the exterior box 10.

The outer box 10 comprises a rear panel 15, a front panel 16, two side panels 17 and 18, and a lower panel 19. The outer box 10 further comprises a removable cover 20.

The outer box 10 is preferably made of a lightweight material, such as plastic.

The side panels 17, 18 and rear 15 have openings 21, to allow the connection of the LED screens 13, 14. In the example shown, each panel 15, 17, 18 has twelve openings 21. This number is not limiting .

The presence of the openings 21 also makes it possible to reduce the weight of the outer box 10, and therefore of the transport box 2. The weight of the transport box 2 is for example approximately 14 kg.

Such an exterior box 10 also makes it possible to maximize the volume of the interior box 9 (for a given volume of transport box 2), therefore to maximize the storage space for the goods.

The lower panel 19 is arranged to receive control and/or power supply means 24 of the LED screens 13, 14.

The control and/or power supply means 24 may include, for example, a microcontroller, to manage all of the electronic components and LED screens 13, 14, a memory, to store sequences of images to be displayed on the LED screens 13, 14, a secondary battery, to power the LED screens 13, 14 when the vehicle 1 is stationary, a mobile telecommunications system (for example a 5G card), to receive image sequences to display on the LED screens 13, 14 from a remote server, and/or a geolocation system (GPS), to geolocate the vehicle 1 and control the display of particular sequences of images according to the position of the vehicle 1.

A sequence of images can include one image, to produce a static display, or several images, to display a video.

The outer box 10 further comprises a hatch 25 which, when open, allows access to the inner box 9. The hatch 25 is located to the right of the opening 11 of the inner box 9, therefore, in the example described, in the front panel 16 of the exterior box 10. The hatch 25 can be articulated or sliding. The hatch 25 may further include a locking mechanism, so that the hatch 25 can be securely closed when the vehicle 1 is moving or left unattended.

The transport box 2 can also include a solar panel (not shown) capable of powering the LED screens 13, 14. The solar panel is for example placed on the cover 20 of the external box 10.

As described above, the display device 12 comprises two or three LED screens 13, 14, arranged on the rear face 5 of the transport case 2 and on one or two of the side faces 3, 4 of the transport case 2.

The vertical edges of the rear 13 LED screen are beveled. In addition, at least one vertical edge of each side LED screen 14 is also beveled, to cooperate with the corresponding beveled edge of the rear LED screen 13. The angle of each bevel is for example substantially equal to 45°.

The cooperation of the beveled shapes of the edges of the LED screens 13, 14, at the junction 33 between two screens 13, 14, makes it possible to best adjust the LED screens 13, 14 in relation to each other. Thus, the LED screens 13, 14 can be mounted so as to be able to display an image up to the angles formed between the rear face 15 and each side face 17, 18. In this way, it is possible to ensure continuity of the image displayed between the three LED screens 13, 14.

An “LED screen” is a liquid crystal screen (LCD) which uses backlighting technology for the LCD panel using light-emitting diodes (LED or LED).

Each LED screen 13, 14 can be formed by the juxtaposition of a plurality of LED modules 30, placed in the same plane.

This characteristic makes it possible to reduce the maintenance costs of the transport box 2. Indeed, when an LED module 30 is broken down, faulty, or its display surface has been damaged (scratched or broken), it can be replaced without replacing the other LED modules 30 of the screen 13, 14.

In the case of an LED screen 13, 14 comprising a plurality of LED modules 30, it can be provided that each LED module 30 is fixed on the exterior box 10 opposite a single opening 21 of a side panel 17, 18 or rear 15 of the outer box 10 or opposite several openings 21 of a side panel 17, 18 or rear 15 of the outer box 10.

In the embodiment represented by the figures, we can thus see, on the , a first LED module 30, constituting a part of the LED screen 13, which is assembled on the rear panel 15 of the exterior box 10, and a second LED module 30, constituting a part of the LED screen 14, which is assembled on the side panel 17 of the exterior box 10. Each of these LED modules 30 here covers two of the openings 21 of the side panel 17 or rear panel 15 of the exterior box 10.

The objective is that the juxtaposition of the LED modules 30 makes it possible to create a screen 13, 14 completely covering the corresponding rear panel 15 or side panel 17, 18. Thus, in the embodiment shown, six LED modules 30 make it possible, when they are juxtaposed in the same plane, to create a screen 13 or 14 completely covering the rear panel 15 or side panel 17, 18 of the exterior box 10.

Each LED module 30 comprises, in a manner known per se, a display plate 31, of very thin thickness, and an electronic box 32. The electronic box 32 is generally made of plastic and contains the electronic elements allowing the operation of the module LED 30.

The juxtaposition of the LED modules 30 must make it possible to obtain the beveled shape of the vertical edges of the rear LED screen 13 and of at least one vertical edge of each of the side LED screens 14.

For this, at least some of the edges of the LED modules 30 have a beveled shape. This beveled shape is for example obtained by machining the electronic boxes 32 of the LED modules 30.

According to the embodiment shown in Figures 4 and 5, the four edges of each LED module 30 are beveled. This characteristic makes it possible to manufacture and store a single model of LED modules 30. The LED modules 30 are also interchangeable at the time of assembly or repair of the LED screen 13, 14.

According to another embodiment of the invention, not shown, only certain edges of the LED modules 30 have a beveled shape. In this case, the LED modules 30 must be fixed on the exterior box 10 so that their beveled edge (or one of their beveled edges) is at the level of the junction 33 between two screens 13, 14.

Transparent protective plates can also be provided to cover each of the LED screens 13, 14. This limits the risk of damaging the display surfaces, therefore having to replace one or more LED module(s).

For the implementation of the transport box according to the invention, the panels 15, 16, 17, 18, 19 of the outer box 10 are assembled, for example using brackets 26 and screws 27.

Then, the LED modules 30 are fixed on the outer box 10, opposite the openings 21 of the outer box 10, for example using screws 28.

Then, the LED modules 30 are connected to the control and/or power supply means 24 via electrical cables (not shown).

Then, the inner box 9 is inserted into the outer box 10, for example by the upper face of the outer box 10. This characteristic simplifies the installation of the inner box 9 in the outer box 10. The inner box 9 is held in position in the outer box 10, for example via wedges 29.

Then, the cover 20 of the outer box 10 is mounted on the rest of the outer box 10, for example by screwing. If necessary, the cover 20 can then be unscrewed to access the interior of the exterior box 10, in particular to replace an LED module.

It should be noted that the constitution of the transport box 2, comprising an outer box 10 carrying screens and an inner box 9, inserted removably into the outer box 10 and adapted to contain one or more goods(s) to be transported , constitutes in itself an innovation, independently of the other characteristics of the transport box described in the present application. Indeed, this constitution of the transport box 2 allows both very easy access to the electronic components of the screens, by removing the interior box 9, and protection of these electronic components against all risks, such as liquid leaks, from the goods transported. The fact that the cover 20 of the outer box 10 is removable, thus allowing easy removal of the inner box 10, is an advantageous characteristic of this innovation.

After its assembly, the transport box 2 is mounted on the vehicle 1, in a manner known per se.

Vehicle 1 is then ready to be used.

When vehicle 1 is traveling, the main battery of vehicle 1 can be used to power the LED screens 13, 14 and the control and/or power supply means 24.

The control means 24 control the display of each LED module. In other words, the control means 24 transmit to each LED module a sequence of images to display.

The image sequences transmitted to the different LED modules are preferably selected to obtain, at each moment, an image extending continuously over several screens 13, 14.

The image sequences may have been stored beforehand in a memory of the control means 24, or may be received from a remote server.

The control means 24 can also transmit to a remote server the current position of the vehicle 1, so that the server selects image sequences adapted to the geographical area. This feature makes it possible, for example, to display targeted advertising. The impact of broadcast advertising is thus stronger.

When vehicle 1 is stationary, the display can be stopped. Alternatively, a secondary battery can take over. The secondary battery can also be recharged by the solar panel.

Of course, the present invention is not limited to the embodiments described above by way of examples; it extends to other variants.

Claims (10)

Transport box (2) for a vehicle (1) with two or three wheels, characterized in that it comprises two side faces (3, 4), a rear face (5) and a display device (12), the display device comprising a first LED screen (13), covering said rear face, and a second LED screen (14), covering one of said side faces (3), said first and second LED screens being mounted so as to be able to display an image going up to the angle formed between said rear face and said one side face, so as to be able to ensure continuity of the image between said first and second LED screens. Transport box according to claim 1, in which the display device (12) comprises a third LED screen (14), covering the other of said side faces (4), said third LED screen being mounted so as to be able to present a image going up to the angle formed between the rear face and said other side face, so as to be able to ensure image continuity between said first, second and third LED screens. Transport box according to claim 2, in which the vertical edges of the first LED screen (13) are beveled, at least one vertical edge of each of said second and third LED screens (14) being beveled, to cooperate with the corresponding beveled edge of the first LED screen. Transport box according to any one of claims 1 to 3, in which each LED screen (13, 14) is formed by the juxtaposition of a plurality of LED modules (30). Transport box according to any one of claims 1 to 4, comprising an outer box (10), allowing the fixing of the LED screens (13, 14), and an inner box (9), inserted in the outer box and adapted for contain one or more goods to be transported. Transport box according to claim 5, in which the outer box (10) comprises a rear panel (15) and two side panels (17, 18), each panel comprising openings (21) to allow the electrical connection of the LED screens ( 13, 14) to control and/or power supply means (24) arranged in the external box. Transport box according to claim 6, in which the outer box (10) comprises a lower panel (19), on which said control and/or power supply means (24) of the LED screens (13, 14) are fixed. Transport box according to any one of claims 5 to 7, in which the outer box (10) comprises a front panel (16), said front panel comprising a hatch (25) allowing access to the inner box. Transport box according to any one of claims 1 to 8, further comprising a solar panel capable of powering the LED screens.
