L'invention concerne un plancher de véhicule automobile supportant un tunnel (1) pourvu d’un élément de renfort longitudinal (3), ledit élément de renfort présentant une section au moins partiellement évidée renfermant des composants fonctionnels (4), caractérisé en ce que ledit élément de renfort longitudinal (3) est constitué d’un profilé comprenant une semelle inférieure (31) raccordée à une âme centrale (32) perpendiculaire qui se prolonge par au moins une aile supérieure (33a, 33b) et qui délimite, au-dessus de la semelle, deux compartiments latéraux (30a, 30b) destinés à recevoir lesdits composants fonctionnels (4).
