Abstract

La présente invention concerne une méthode et un dispositif de transmission WDM sur fibre optique à dualité de polarisation. La méthode de transmission utilise un codage IQ spécifique permettant de combattre les effets de la PDL. Les symboles de modulation à transmettre sur les états de polarisation des longueurs d’onde subissent une décomposition en valeurs réelles et valeurs imaginaires (220). Un vecteur réel composé par la concaténation de ces valeurs réelles et de ces valeurs imaginaires est ensuite construit. Une première transformation linéaire inversible, représentée par une matrice réelle dense, est appliquée (230) au vecteur réel ainsi obtenu pour fournir un vecteur réel transformé. Des symboles d’émission complexes sont formés par combinaison I/Q (240) des composantes du vecteur transformé, les symboles d’émission modulant ensuite les différents états de polarisation des canaux WDM.
