Appareil (1) de compression de fluide cryogénique comprenant au moins un piston (5) et au moins une chemise (14) délimitant au moins une chambre (3) de compression, la au moins une chambre (3) de compression étant logée dans une enceinte (13) étanche contenant un bain (16) de fluide cryogénique liquéfié, l’appareil (1) comprenant un arbre (15) mobile en translation selon un axe (A) longitudinal, l’arbre (15) possédant une partie dans l’enceinte (13) relié au(x) piston(s) ou chemise(s) et étant mobile selon un mouvement alternatif pour assurer des phases de compression et d’admission du fluide dans la au moins une chambre (3) de compression en déplaçant relativement le au moins un piston (5) et la au moins une chemise (14), l’appareil (1) comprenant un système (2) d’admission communiquant avec la au moins une chambre (3) de compression et configuré pour permettre l’entrée de fluide à comprimer dans ladite chambre (3) de compression et un système (7, 11) d’évacuation communiquant avec la chambre (3) de compression pour permettre la sortie de fluide comprimé, le système d’évacuation comprenant une conduite (11) d’évacuation du fluide comprimé vers une sortie de l’appareil (1) en dehors de l’enceinte (13), l’appareil comprenant en outre une conduite (8) de collecte de fluide provenant de fuite(s) de la au moins une chambre (3) de compression et/ou de fluide vaporisé dans l’enceinte (13), la conduite (8) de collecte comprenant une portion de refroidissement du fluide comprimé par en échange thermique entre au moins une partie du flux de fluide circulant dans la conduite (8) de collecte et au moins une partie du flux de fluide circulant dans la conduite (11) d’évacuation du fluide comprimé.
