Abstract

L’invention concerne un four pour mettre en œuvre un procédé endothermique comprenant des tubes contenant du catalyseur pour convertir un gaz d’alimentation, dans lequel les tubes sont positionnés en rangées dans le four, dans lequel des brûleurs appelés brûleurs internes sont montés en rangées entre les rangées de tubes et des brûleurs appelés brûleurs externes sont montés entre les murs du four parallèles aux rangées de tubes et les rangées de tubes adjacentes formant des rangées de tubes dits externes, lequel four est muni de lances installées à proximité des brûleurs externes qui sont aptes à injecter des fluides gazeux interférant avec les courants de gaz de combustion issu desdits brûleurs. L’invention concerne aussi une méthode pour redresser les flammes émises dans ledit four par les brûleurs externes. La direction du jet des produits de combustion émis par les brûleurs des rangées externes est corrigée par l’injection au niveau des brûleurs externes- via des lances installées à proximité des brûleurs - de fluides gazeux interférant avec les courants de gaz de combustion issu desdits brûleurs externes, de sorte à redresser les flammes.
