Abstract
The present complex inventions intended to compensate for both hearing loss and memory loss relate to a headphone-type listening amplifier device (Fig 1,2,3) comprising an acoustic module for amplifying sound with air and bone bi-conduction able to be positioned on the lateral flanks of the head of a user and a cognitive compensator, providing basic responses to which users are no longer able to respond.
Description
The two separate inventions are as follows:
1° Assistant d’écoute destiné à compenser la perte d’audition1° Listening assistant intended to compensate for hearing loss
The product comes in the form of a “headband” headset (Fig 1,2,3) whose ends are equipped with speakers, vibrators, and on either side, 2 microphones. The sound signal picked up by the microphones is processed and amplified according to algorithms then retransmitted to the wearer simultaneously by air, via the loudspeakers and by bone, via the vibrators.
2° Compensateur cognitif destiné à compenser la perte de mémoire2° Cognitive compensator intended to compensate for memory loss
This is a digital response assistance tool integrated into the listening assistant and processing the sound signal according to a natural language recognition algorithm housed in the processor. When an occurrence is recognized, the value linked to the occurrence is selected in the internal memory of the device and retransmitted to the user by voice synthesis via the speakers and vibrators of the listening assistant headset.
Les contraintes liées à la conception de ce dispositif ont été:The constraints related to the design of this device were:
- L’efficacité de l’amplification sonore malgré l’obstruction des conduits auditifs (présence de bouchons de cérumen)The effectiveness of sound amplification despite the obstruction of the ear canals (presence of earwax plugs)
- La mise en marche et l’utilisation simplifiées à l’extrême pour fonctionner de manière intuitive,Extremely simplified start-up and use to operate intuitively,
- Les dimensions adaptées aux mensurations crâniennes des porteurs,The dimensions adapted to the cranial measurements of the wearers,
The fidelity of the retransmission of the signal even in noisy environment.
In the prior state of the art, no hearing aid leads to the present inventions.
En effet:In effect:
The international patent published on May 23, 2019 under the number 201 909 96 99 "interactive system for hearing devices", filed by the company STARKEY on November 15, 2017 solves the difficulty of listening by increasing the volume while the present inventions bind listening difficulties to the lack of response and provide a technical solution.
The international patent published on? under the number 2019134377 "bone conduction sound device" filed by the company VOXTECH (Shenzen) on January 8, 2018 amplifies the restitution without further significant details.
French patent n° 3052621 published on December 15, 2017, “acoustic device of the helmet type, filed by the company ELNO on June 13, 2016, provides for bone conduction and, if necessary, air conduction.
The patent published the same day under No. 3052622 "acoustic headphones", filed by the company ELNO on June 13, 2016 adjusts the volume in real time to the amplification curve to respond to the difficulty of listening.
Bien que les solutions techniques liées à la reconnaissance vocale de ces deux brevets existent également dans les inventions examinées, l’ensemble antérieur d’une part, ne prévoit ni la correction dû à l’absence de réponse lié aux pertes de mémoires de l’utilisateur, essentielle dans le compensateur cognitif ni la retransmission des signaux reçus et traités par voie aérienne et osseuse simultanément dans le casque des présentes inventions qui favorisent la correction si nécessaire, d’autre part, n’est pas totalement internalisé .Although the technical solutions related to the voice recognition of these two patents also exist in the examined inventions, the previous set on the one hand, does not provide either the correction due to the absence of response related to the memory losses of the user, essential in the cognitive compensator nor the retransmission of the signals received and processed by air and bone simultaneously in the helmet of the present inventions which favor the correction if necessary, on the other hand, is not completely internalized.
These two differences are the defining and internalized features of the present inventions. The difficulty in achieving this, in particular using specific algorithms, makes it possible to deduce that a person skilled in the art, even by combining the two prior art, does not manage to invent it in an obvious way.
The acoustic sound amplification module is in the form of a hoop suitable for being positioned as a headband on the head of a user (Figure 1,2,3) to the lower ends of his 2 ears, the said arch being endowed with:

Par exemple, ledit dispositif pourra se connecter avec un microphone déporté afin d’améliorer le ratio son/bruit et augmenter la qualité d’écoute de l’utilisateur. a non-wired connection module (BT type), allowing it to establish a connection with a sound source other than the voice of an interlocutor. For example, said device could be connected with a remote microphone in order to improve the sound/noise ratio and increase the user's listening quality.
The device further comprises response assistance software housed within the processor.
This software is based on an algorithm and natural language processing, a database specific to each user whose format is predefined, specific start-up and standby procedures in order to replace the absence of user response, without actively soliciting it.
This feature is intended to assist the latter when he struggles to answer simple questions about him.
Les caractéristiques dudit compensateur cognitif sont:The characteristics of said cognitive compensator are:
- de se déclencher quand une question simple est posée à l’utilisateur,to be triggered when a simple question is asked to the user,
- de reconnaitre et de comprendre la question simple,to recognize and understand the simple question,
- d’aller chercher la réponse à cette question dans une base de données propre à l’utilisateur,to seek the answer to this question in a database specific to the user,
- d’avoir une base de données pouvant être implémentée par l’entourage de l’utilisateur avec des réponses spécifiques à chaque champ renseigné,to have a database that can be implemented by the user's entourage with specific answers to each field filled in,
- de restituer la réponse à l’utilisateur via les haut-parleurs et vibrateurs du casque assistant d’écoute, return the response to the user via the speakers and vibrators of the listening assistant helmet,
- de restituer ladite réponse sans sollicitation active de la part de l’utilisateurto return said response without active solicitation from the user

- de fonctionner sans être connecté à un réseau,to operate without being connected to a network,
- de formuler des réponses spécifiques à chaque utilisateurto formulate specific answers to each user
For example, if the user no longer remembers his date of birth when an interlocutor asks him, the so-called cognitive compensator suggests the answer by voice synthesis.
These inventions apply particularly to users with a loss of autonomy associating hearing loss and cognitive disorders such as spatial and temporal disorientation as well as memory loss.
The purpose of this type of device is to improve users' ability to listen and communicate, particularly when they are no longer able to use hearing aids, given their highly dependent situation and the decline in their cognitive functions and on the other hand to the obstruction of their ear canals by cerumen plugs.
In order to provide the subject with hearing impairment with an effective reproduction of an amplified sound signal, it is desirable that the latter be transmitted to the inner ear even in the presence of a mechanical obstacle upstream of the eardrum. It has been proven that cerumen plugs impede the auditory perception of subjects who present with them.
One of the claims of the present invention is therefore to stimulate the hearing of a subject even in the presence of earwax by the association of sound amplification transmitted by air conduction and sound amplification transmitted by bone conduction; the 2 amplified signals being retransmitted to the user without phase shift.
