Abstract
TITRE. Instrumented scraper for the inspection of pipeline pipelines. The invention relates to an instrumented pig in which is installed a measuring device making it possible to detect and locate a leak, or an illegal withdrawal of product (active or stopped) in a pipeline. This device is designed to provide in the scraper, a sealed measuring chamber called the reference volume, delimited on the one hand, at the ends of the scraper, by two sealing cups and, on the other hand, by the internal wall of the pipe. , and the central body of the scraper in which the pressure is measured and compared to the reference pressure corresponding to the pressure at which the fluid circulates inside the pipe; a negative pressure variation in this reference volume indicates the presence of a loss of product by leakage or clandestine withdrawal. Other pressure variations, recorded and correlated with the line profile documents (weld book and others), also allow its rapid location. In addition, a positive displacement pump, driven and motorized by the advancement of the scraper, injects and withdraws at a studied rate a calibrated volume of product taken from the tube, inducing an increase and a decrease in pressure in the reference volume. This operation consists in following the measure of the compressibility of the referent volume. When the scraper arrives at a non-active clandestine nozzle, the pressure delta will be lower. In fact, the referent volume has, in line with the stitching, increased in volume by the contribution of the pirate volume and thereby increased the compressibility of the referent volume. This device helps address the online product theft issues that pipeline operators face today.
