Abstract
Figure pour l’abrégé : figure 3.Stylus provided with at least one control handle, the handle of which is movable relative to the body of the stylus. The invention relates to a stylus having at least one control lever (3) movable relative to the body (2) of the stylus. This control lever (3) is composed of a handle (5) which can be surmounted by a cap (4), and comprises signs (8) visible for example in FIG. 6. These signs (8), which can while also being present on the body (2), as shown in Figures 4 and 7, allow a user not only to locate himself visually, but also to know what signal he can emit. The joystick (5) can be tilted and end up in one or more positions (Figures 4 and 6), describe a precise path (Figure 9), or move from one point to another along 'a groove (9). The control handle (3) includes a system allowing the handle (5) to always return to the same position, here called the initial or central position, when the user is no longer in physical contact with the control handle. In this way a user, after having tilted the handle (5) in one direction or after having moved it from one point to another of the groove (9), will be able to make it return to its central position without having to tilt in the reverse direction or move it again. Consequently, this so-called initial position also allows a user to be able to more easily repeat an inclination or a trajectory by acting on the handle (5). The repetition of a movement of the handle (5) for a period of time will give rise, depending on the type of movement, either to a repetition of the same signal, or to a completely new signal. In an example of use, holding the stick (5) for a certain number of seconds in a position will not generate the same signal as if the stick had been in that position without being held there. Likewise, holding the handle (5) at a specific location in the groove (9) will trigger a different signal than the one triggered if the handle had not been held there. In addition, a precise signal generated by a precise movement of the handle (5) relative to the body (2) can have the effect of emitting a light thanks to an indicator (7) present on the body (2), or the emission of a sound through a speaker (6) present on the body (2). Beyond the reactions of the speaker (6) and the indicator (7), the signal that the invention sends to a device with which it interacts is, for example, a Bluetooth signal. The consequence of emitting a signal can be playing a video on a touchscreen tablet, turning off a mobile phone, or closing all the applications on a computer in order to return to the home page. The list of consequences of the signals generated is not exhaustive. The invention is intended to facilitate the use of styli via a mobile joystick, by enabling more, more varied and therefore more interesting actions and interactions between stylus users, styluses and electronic devices. Description
The present invention relates to a stylus provided with a control lever having a handle (also called rod or stick) movable relative to the body of the stylus.
We are in the computer field, more precisely in that of styluses used to interact with devices (mobile phones, tablets or computers for example), as shown in Figure 1.
The problem found is that nowadays styluses are very limited in what they can do for the simple reason that the number of identical or different signals they can emit is very limited. As a result, the number of interactions that these styluses make possible with an electronic device is very limited. For example, the number of buttons on current styluses is often equal to or slightly less than the number of signals these styluses can generate. This problem is a source of frustration for some stylus users, who then often question their usefulness.
The present invention (disassembled in Figure 2 but assembled and more detailed in Figure 3) provides a solution to the problem because the stylus, thanks to its control lever (3) provided with a handle (5) movable relative to the body (2) of the stylus, emits a different signal depending on the movement performed by the handle (5). The movement of this handle (5) can be an inclination of the handle relative to the body of the stylus (FIG. 4), a displacement of the handle from one point to another of the body (2) of the stylus without inclination of the handle relative to the pen body (Figure 10), or both. The handle (5) of the control lever (3) can be surmounted by a cap (4) as shown in Figures 3 and 4. An indicator (7) also called a light or warning light, and a loudspeaker ( 6) are present on the body (2). The invention, in addition to being able to physically come into contact with the screen of a device via its writing end (1), therefore has a control lever (3) which may resemble a "joystick" for video games . This joystick (3) can be made of plastic, rubber, aluminum, stainless steel or iron. The signal generated by the invention as a function of the movement performed by the handle (5) can have a consequence both on the invention and on a device which interacts with the invention.
These signs (8), which provide information, can for example be geometric shapes or letters as shown in top view in Figure 6. In this figure, the handle (5) being inclined in the direction of each of the four positions represented by the letters a, c, w and z, will trigger four different signals, which consequently allows more actions or interactions between a user, the stylus, and a device. In other words, a user, by tilting or pushing the handle (also called rod or stick) of the control lever (3) towards the position represented by the letter z or in the corresponding direction, will trigger a specific action on a device electronics by sending it a precise signal, a signal which would have been different if the user had rather inclined the handle (5) of the control lever (3) in the direction or towards the position represented by the letter a. In figure 7, tilting the stick (5) of the joystick (3) towards the sign (8) "Play / Pause" can start a movie, music or a game, or pause them. However, tilting the handle of the joystick towards the "Home" sign can help a user to return to the home screen of the electronic device with which the stylus is interacting. Each position can therefore generate a different signal, and thus give rise to a different action or interaction. The positions in Figure 6 are represented by signs (8) inscribed above the control handle (3), more precisely on the cap (4), for greater visibility. In this figure the signs are letters and shapes, but can just as well be numbers, figures or symbols as shown in figure 7. The signs (8) can just as well be written on the control lever ( 3) than on the body (2). Indeed, in Figures 4 and 7, the signs (8) are inscribed on the body (2) and not on the control lever (3), unlike Figure 6. Furthermore, the control lever (3) can be located both on one end of the stylus (Figure 3) and along the stylus (Figure 5), which shows that the stylus can have several control levers at the same time, the handle of which is movable relative to the body ( figure 8).
In another example of use, the indicator (7) of the stylus displays a light of a specific color, flashing or not, depending on the inclination of the handle (5) of the control lever (3), or depending on the trajectory followed by the stick (5) of the control lever (3) after it has been tilted. Figure 9 shows, in top view, the indicator (7) which lights up immediately after the semi-circle made by the control lever. The fact that it is a semi-circle is very important, as the output signal would have been different if the joystick had made a full circle. Figure 4 shows from another angle the indicator (7) emitting a light after the inclination of the handle (5) of the control lever (3) with respect to the body (2). The stick in this figure has been tilted, without describing a circular trajectory.
In another case, the stylus via its loudspeaker (6) emits a continuous or discontinuous sound depending on the inclination of the handle (5) of the control lever (3) or the trajectory which he described after being tilted (Figure 4). In this figure 4, the loudspeaker (6) emits a sound, and this reaction was triggered by the inclination of the handle (5) relative to the body (2).
In the case of a movement of the handle from one point to another without inclination of the handle in relation to the body (figure 10), the control lever of the stylus will find itself in several positions, and consequently allow the sending of several different signals. In figure 10, which shows the invention in plan view and in which the possible positions are mentioned in the groove (9) by the letters (N, S, O and E), several things can be noticed. When the control lever whose cap (4) can be seen is in its initial position, that is to say in the center of the groove (9), the indicator (7) does not emit any light because no signal is is produced. On the other hand, when the control lever leaves its central position to move between the S and N positions, the indicator (7) emits a continuous light because a precise signal is generated. Repeating this S-N shift multiple times in a row or multiple times for a specific amount of time can produce a completely different signal, such as emitting a flashing light this time. In an example of use, a particular movement of the control lever (from O to S or from S to E, i.e. forming a right angle in the groove) can cause the speed to speed up or slow down. blinking. The number of different signals that the invention allows is therefore not negligible. What shows in this top view that it is a movement of the handle (5) from one point to another without inclination of the handle (5) with respect to the body (2), is that at no time can you see the handle (5) since it is below the cap (4), which hides it. Figure 10 is therefore different from Figures 6 or 9 in which the handle can be seen in top view.
In addition to providing a solution to the problem of the number of signals and the number of different signals that a stylus can emit, the invention has another advantage. Indeed, it turns out that people with certain forms of disability cannot use the styluses currently on the market. Regarding, for example, visual and auditory disabilities, people who suffer from them have no visual or auditory means of knowing what the consequences of their actions are on current styluses. The present invention, thanks to the type of sound emitted according to the movement made by the handle (5) of the control lever (3), will allow a blind person to know with certainty which signal he has just emitted, which signal he has just sent to an electronic device, or what interaction it has just implemented. In the same vein, the present invention, thanks to the continuous or discontinuous light emitted by the indicator (7), will this time allow a deaf person to know with certainty which signal they have just generated. Regarding motor disabilities, people who suffer from them do not always have the necessary dexterity to properly use current styluses when they want to interact with an electronic device. However, the present invention, thanks to its control lever (3) which can send several different types of signals, will allow a person with reduced mobility, who can only move his fingers, to play a video game on his tablet, trigger playing music or a movie, drawing on the screen of your smartphone, sharing an article on social networks or answering a call; The list is not exhaustive. It is indeed easier for people with motor disabilities to operate a “joystick” with a thumb than to have to tap different places on a tablet with the tip of a stylus.
The accompanying drawings illustrate the invention: there are ten of them, numbered in their upper part from 1/10 to 10/10.
