Abstract

Chronotonometric diagram of the distribution of the pulse wave in humans for research in human physiology and the teaching of this discipline. Machine for the mechanical production of a pulse wave with human characteristics, based on the work of circulation physiology by Eugène Marey. In the present invention, the machine for producing the pressure wave is associated with a closed circuit of water circulation constructed of natural rubber simulating the arterial vascularization of muscular and neuromedullary distribution with human proportions for the lengths and for the calibers. The set models a 180 cm tall subject with a 60 cm long aorta lying down for 15 minutes. Measurements of the speed of the wave on its different paths are made by a programmed network of external sensors which allow an evaluation of the transit times between each sensor.
